Mast Brothers Chocolate Factory

Los Angeles, California

Mast Brother Chocolate Factory and Chocolate Bar – Housed within a converted warehouse on Santa Fe in the Arts District of Los Angeles, the Mast Brothers Chocolate Factory is designed to highlight the very process of making chocolate. The space functions as production line, store, bar and gallery. Five distinct, environmentally autonomous cubes are set in a line within the space, each with an enormous glass face which acts as a window to each of the steps required in chocolate production. From one cube to the next the chocolate transforms through the stages of roasting, winnowing, grinding, mixing and forming. Display areas for the finished product as well as a chocolate bar serving up liquid varieties on tap are located at the front of the space.
