The existing 6.8 acre shopping center was developed in 1976 as the first Precise Plan Development in the City of Monterey Park. Over the past few years, the center has lost its standing in the emerging retail and commercial vibrancy along Atlantic Boulevard. The proposed project will once again reinvigorate the center with new life by demolishing two-thirds of the existing center and constructing a new 50,000 sq ft. LA Fitness Gym, with underground parking, while completely renovating the existing retail and office buildings. New parking facilities, and new landscaping and outdoor seating areas with multiple pedestrian amenities will compliment the redevelopment of the center and restore its standing as a destination in Monterey Park. The project is anticipated to be completed by the first quarter of 2008.
