Uptown Pasadena, originally constructed in 1925, is a 40,000 SF mixed-use project including a cinema, housing, and retail spaces and offices. Plans for the project include a complete seismic upgrade and restoration of the original building facades. A historically sensitive modernization of the existing 900 seat Cinema will be integrated with a new “black-box” performance space to be located within the existing auditorium shell. Street-front retail and offices will be restored and upgraded to include a new lobby and elevator element. Improvements to the existing 30 unit, three story residential component will include new bathrooms and restoration of classic 1920’s era finishes.
